The 2025-2034 Capital Master Plan (Plan) proposes expenditures of $3.8M in 2025 and $20M throughout the 10-year period. Two water main replacement projects and one sewer main replacement project are scheduled for 2025.
The Plan provides a framework for the district to be proactive rather than reactive when dealing with asset replacement and rehabilitation needs. System modifications are prioritized so the facilities most in need of repair are corrected in an appropriate timeframe. The goal is to minimize operation and repair expenses by avoiding costly unscheduled repair, replacement, and rehabilitation of deteriorating facilities. Most importantly, a capital rehabilitation and replacement program help avoid system deterioration, disruption, and potential safety, health and property damage impacts.
The district’s water distribution system requires increased attention as significant portions of the system approach the end of their reliable, useful life. It is extremely important that the district maintain a proactive facility maintenance program and comprehensive long-range capital improvement program to detect and repair all district owned infrastructure as necessary. Water main rehabilitation projects account for 87% of the total proposed expenditures and the sewer main upsizing project accounts for the remaining 13%.
Two water main replacement projects in Woodmar Square are scheduled for 2025.
