L/E WWTP Connector’s Forum Open House

Did you know all of the wastewater districts managed by Platte Canyon Water & Sanitation District discharge their wastewater to the Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant (L/E WWTP)? That plant has a significant number of new staff, including a new plant manager, and they wanted to showcase the facility and provide an opportunity for the connector districts to meet the new staff.  That resulted in the first Connector’s Forum Open House being held at the L/E WWTP on January 30, 2018.

Overall, 34 employees from 14 connector districts attended, including two staff from Platte Canyon who found the event very valuable. The Open House included an introduction of the new L/E WWTP staff, debut of new communications documents, information stations and a bus tour of the facility. The event provided networking opportunities for district staff and city staff, which will prove quite helpful as there are a significant number of new department managers at both cities. It also provided an opportunity for everyone to better understand how the plant is financially managed and governed. This is especially helpful as there are significant upgrades planned for the facility in the coming years and now the connectors have first-hand knowledge of why those are needed.
