Licensing Requirements

CONTRACTORS ARE REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED BY THE DISTRICT TO WORK ON RESIDENTIAL SEWER LINES

The Board of Directors adopted Resolution 2014-1-3 which requires the licensing of residential sewer contractors performing work within the District.

Only licensed contractors will be allowed to work on or adjacent to a District sewer main. Work requiring a license includes cured-in-place or any other internal sewer service lining process that extends through a sewer service to the District’s sewer main.

Prior to hiring a contractor to work on a sewer service line or accepting a job located within the District, homeowners and contractors should call the District office at 303-979-2333 to obtain a license.

Requirements to Obtain a License

  1. Completed Application for Drain Layer / Plumber License form
  2. Proof of insurance naming Southwest Metropolitan Water and Sanitation District as an additional insured
  3. Corporate Surety Bond in the amount of $10,000
  4. Payment by check of $50.00 to process the application (made out to Southwest Metropolitan Water and Sanitation District).
